**From Vegan Leather Sneakers to Sustainably and Ethically Made Trainers, Here Are Our Favorite Brands **

A wardrobe isn’t complete without a good reliable sneaker. And let’s face it when’s the last time you wore anything higher than 1 inch? Luckily over the past few years, shoe brands have been changing standards of production and are now prioritizing fair trade and sustainable fabrics.

Here’s a roundup of a few of our favorite brands.

Veja

Since 2005, Veja has been exploring new techniques to strengthen their ethical and sustainable practices. Their shoes consist of leather from tanneries audited and certified "Gold" by the Leather Working Group, wild rubber, organic cotton, and recycled polyester. They also have a vegan line!

Good News

UK-based Good News has a commitment to designing with purpose and longevity, designing with recyclability, and sourcing and producing ethically. We love their minimal hightops designed with organic cotton uppers and recycled rubber soles.

SAYE

This newer Barcelona based shoe brand plants two trees for every pair of shoes sold, in partnership with WeForest, an NGO that strategically works with communities most affected by deforestation. They use leather that’s certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG) for the upper part of their sneakers and GOTS certified organic cotton for their laces and lining. While they do not carry a vegan collection, they are currently experimenting with recycled materials.

Pangaia

Our favorite loungewear brand just launched their first sneaker. It's zero-waste and made from grape leather which has been repurposed from the Italian wine industry’s waste. The soles are made from recycled rubber created from industrial waste such as samples and prototypes and the Pangaia uses minimal water and vegetable tanning alternatives during the process. Just be warned, their drops sell out quickly so get yourself on the notify list!

Womsh

The Italian based brand truly believes in sustainability and combines recyclability with craftsmanship. They use metal-free tanned leather for the majority of their collection which guarantees the safety of people’s health and the environment. They also have a vegan sneaker collection made from 50% apple fiber and 50% polyurethane.
