The name Status Gaea stems from our belief that the only status that matters is protecting “Gaea”, Mother Earth in Greek mythology.
Shopping sustainably and ethically comes with a LOT of decision-making, which is why here at Status Gaea, our goal is to make it easy for you. We are fashion people through and through, meaning that we love a trend as much as we love timeless, classic pieces. But we think that no matter your style, you should be empowered to make better choices for your body, your life, and your planet.
Each product on our site is curated from brands that are vetted for sustainable and ethical standards. We do this through research and collaboration ensuring that they meet the core values from our ethos . We’ve done all of the legwork so you can sit back and discover.
You will be directed to a third-party site for all purchases and payments. Fulfillment, logistics, and returns are handled directly through the partner site which means we can focus on bringing you the good stuff while also removing the need to further move stock, ensuring we keep a minimal carbon footprint.
Mandy & Toni
Having first met briefly in 2006 and then again in 2016 while working together for a startup fashion company, we realized that many of our values, work ethics, and fashion aesthetics aligned, creating the perfect setup for a business partnership.
First and foremost we are both mothers, global citizens, creatives, style aficionados, and seekers of positive change.
Jointly between us, we pull together 20 years of fashion industry expertise and a resume of Burberry, Swarovski, Banana Republic, and The Gap across London, LA, New York, and San Francisco.
While the topics of sustainability and ethics are a global conversation, they are also very personal to us as we are both tired of the overabundance of fast fashion, greenwashing tactics, and discrimination within the workforce.
Armed with this drive we decided to put our efforts into creating a positive platform that promotes brands committed to sustainable and ethical practices, and connect them to an audience eager to join the fashion revolution.
