Fresh Finds: 5 Styles Made From Sustainable Deadstock Fabrics That Are Anything But Boring

Fresh Finds: 5 Styles Made From Sustainable Deadstock Fabrics That Are Anything But Boring
Share:

Deadstock fabrics have been an amazing source of inspiration and sustainable resource for designers of late. But what is deadstock fabric?

It’s leftover fabric from other fashion houses or fabrication mills who overestimated their needs. Traditionally, brands would hold on to excess fabrics for a few seasons and then send them to the landfills. By selling and repurposing these fabrics, designers are able to purchase limited quantity textiles that would have otherwise been waste and produce limited edition styles.

The quantity limits and sourcing challenges will keep deadstock fabric from ever going mainstream and mass-produced, but for the smaller brands that are looking to reduce and reuse, it’s a brilliant option! Here are 5 of our favorite styles that are sure to turn heads and be one-of-a-kind.

Roop Furoshiki Satin Bag

$84

Roop designs cute knotted mini bags from deadstock and vintage fabrics. We love how these one-of-kind gems keep things fun and exciting especially this blue polka dot bag made from deadstock satin.
