5 Eco-Friendly Underwear Brands That Are Drop Dead Gorgeous
Share:

Underwear isn’t just the staple of our everyday outfits but also the easiest thing you can switch out for more of a sustainable wardrobe. While comfy cotton basic briefs and bras are always great, we also love a gorgeous set of sheer and colorful underwear that allows you to feel confident without compromising your ethics.

Araks

The sleepwear, swim, and lingerie brand uses the ethos of reduce, reuse, recycle throughout their business model. The collections are designed around core fabrics that are evergreen, which means that excess materials can be worked into future seasons instead of being discarded. The company is proud to announce that they work towards their own sustainability goals and by February 2020 this year, all of their products have been made from organic GOTS certified materials.

Mary Young

Mary Young’s eponymous label was created with the main mission of creating ethically made garments that are comfortable for you and only you. She designs with all different body shapes and curves in mind, creating garments mainly made with rayon from organic bamboo material and ethically made in Montreal, Canada. To reduce their carbon footprint, none of their fabrics include chlorine bleach or dyes that release carcinogenic amine compounds and the use of synthetic sizing agents is prohibited during the knitting and weaving process to avoid waste. We’re obsessed with her sheer styles like this Dia Bra below.

Underprotection

The Copenhagen-based loungewear and lingerie label creates every garment from innovative sustainable fabrics such as recycled polyester, recycled wool, Tencel lyocell, organic cotton, and milk fiber. For those that haven’t heard of milk fiber, the material is a byproduct and demands almost no chemicals during production as the protein is extracted from the sour milk from the dairy industry and made into a delicate and shiny fiber that is extremely soft and comparable to silk.
